AI career risk report for US finance roles
Think FICObut for how much of your job AI is taking
SELOR measures how much of your role is automatable — today, and in 18 months. One number from 0 to 100, broken into your actual tasks, with the 12-week route that moves it. Built for CPAs, controllers, FP&A analysts, auditors and tax professionals in the US.

Sample output. Higher score means more exposure. Your numbers come from your own answers.
Opinions about this are free. A number is harder.
Ask ChatGPT and you get an answer. Ask it again tomorrow and you get a different one. It has no data about what happened to your role this quarter, so it writes something plausible instead.
Ask a career coach and it costs about $150 for thirty minutes. You get judgment — often good judgment — about a job market they last worked in some years ago.
Your employer knows more than either, and will not tell you. The job description gets rewritten first. The headcount conversation happens later, without you in the room.
SELOR does one thing: it puts a number on it, and shows the arithmetic.
Measurement, not prophecy.
What is free, and what the $10 buys
The free score gives you your 0–100 number, its risk band, its confidence label, your runway in months and your highest-risk driver. The $10 Full Report adds the task-by-task exposure map, the red zone, the peer benchmark and the 12-week route.
You answer five questions and the score appears before any payment. This is the exact boundary — the free tier is built from a fixed list of permitted fields, so nothing below moves quietly across the line.

What is in the report
The $10 SELOR Full Report contains six sections: your score with its confidence label, a task exposure map of up to 18 tasks, your moat, a 12-week route, a peer benchmark, and three what-if levers. Every figure in all six carries a citation to its source.
The score, and how sure it is
0 to 100, where higher means more exposure. Three bands: LOW below 40, CAUTION to 69, HIGH above that. Alongside it, a confidence label — HIGH, MEDIUM or THIN — that tells you how much data sits behind your result, and a runway figure in months.
Your task map — up to 18 tasks
Your role split into the tasks you actually do, in O*NET's wording rather than ours. For each one: the share of your week it takes, how automatable it is today, how automatable in 18 months, and which tools are shipping against it — marked generally available, beta or announced.
Your moat
The specific tasks that stay yours, each with the reason it resists automation. Named tasks from your own map, not encouragement.
A 12-week route
One row per week for twelve weeks. Each row names the move, the skill it builds, the artifact you finish the week holding, and the projected effect on your score. It is a table you can work through, not a plan you have to interpret.
Peer benchmark
Where your score sits for your title and region — median, top decile, bottom decile. The report states in plain words whether that distribution is observed or modelled, every time it shows one.
Three what-ifs
Three levers you could pull, each with the score you would land on and the size of the move. Every one is labelled “Projected, not guaranteed.”
Every figure carries a citation
Each number traces to the source it came from — the filing, the posting dataset, the tool release — with the date it was read. This is enforced rather than promised: a citation that does not resolve to a registered source is rejected, and the report does not ship. The same rule is why you will not find a statistic on this page that we cannot point at.
What the task map looks like
The task map scores each task in your role twice: how automatable it is with tools available today, and how automatable it is projected to be in 18 months. Tasks fall into three buckets — red, yellow and green.
Below is a sample for a Senior FP&A Analyst in Chicago. Six of the rows are shown here; a real map runs to 18, depending on how many tasks your domain carries.
| Task | Bucket | Share of week | Automatable now | In 18 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prepare consolidated month-end close entries | Gone | 14% | 71% | 86% |
| Reconcile intercompany balances | Gone | 9% | 78% | 91% |
| Build and maintain the rolling 13-week cash forecast | Shared | 11% | 58% | 74% |
| Draft variance commentary for the board pack | Shared | 8% | 44% | 67% |
| Present findings to the audit committee | Yours | 6% | 12% | 17% |
| Negotiate covenant terms with lenders | Yours | 4% | 8% | 11% |
Read the bottom two rows again. That is the moat: the work that needs a room, a counterparty and accountability. The report tells you which of your tasks belong there — and what share of your week currently does not.
Sample red zone: 23% of the week
How the number is built
The SELOR score combines four weighted drivers: hiring trend, layoff signal, tool pressure, and your moat. Each carries a fixed weight in the model. The weights do not change between customers, and they do not change because of who is asking.
Hiring trend
Which way the count of open roles is moving in your domain and metro. The largest single weight in the model.
Layoff signal
Filings and announcements that touch your domain, weighted toward the recent and the local.
Tool pressure
AI tools shipping against your specific tasks — counted differently depending on whether they are generally available, in beta, or merely announced.
Your moat
The tasks that resist automation. The only driver that pulls your score down, which is why the route spends twelve weeks on it.
Same inputs, same score
The score is computed in code from fixed formulas. It is not written by a language model, and it is not an opinion that varies by run. Every run is hashed: give the same answers and you get back the identical number, not a fresh guess.
A language model does write the prose — the explanations, the one-liners, the closing note. It is handed the computed figures and is not permitted to produce its own. Any number in the narrative that does not match the computed payload fails validation, and that report does not go out.
Model version and input hash are printed on every report, so any result can be reproduced or challenged. Measurement, not prophecy.
What we don't have yet
No testimonials. We are launching with a founder cohort of finance professionals in Chicago, and we would rather show you an empty space here than write quotes nobody said. When there are real ones — name, role, what actually happened — they go in this section.
No claim that we predicted anyone's layoff. We measure what the market is doing now. That is a leading indicator, not a forecast, and the report says so in those words.
What we do have is a refund policy that makes finding out cost nothing.
If you would rather start without a payment at all, the free SELOR career risk score is the same first three steps and stops before checkout.
$10, one time
The SELOR Full Report costs $10 as a one-time payment. Thirty minutes with a career coach runs about $150. This is $10, and it re-runs whenever your answers change.
There is no subscription on this page and nothing renews. One payment, one report, yours in your account.
